Just steps away from the main historic house at 2056 Chestnut Avenue is our newly remodeled Carriage House. Built in 1948, this Colonial-style structure was developed by Mabelle Jorden beside her family home as a source of rental income following the passing of her parents. Over the years, the building evolved alongside Buena Vista itself, serving at different times as everything from a tanning business to student apartments.
In 2026, the Blue Ridge Abbey team lovingly reimagined the property as an extension of the Bed & Breakfast, preserving its historic character while introducing thoughtful modern comforts.
While the property originally featured five bedrooms and 2 bathrooms across 2,622 square feet, today, the Carriage House offers seven beautifully renovated guest rooms with private baths across almost 3,000 square feet, creating even more space for visitors to experience the warmth, charm, and hospitality of Blue Ridge Abbey.
